A few years ago I made myself a patchworked project pouch much larger than most.
I was frustrated by the small size of all of the project pouches out there. Too small to safely carry an almost finished adult size sweater, a notions pouch, spare skeins of yarn, and my pattern.
On the eve of a trip away where I wanted to take my holiday knitting with me, secured safely by a zip closure and not a drawstring, with a carry handle for convenience, I made this bag.

Now, after a little poke by my dear friend and yarn dyeing genius Heather, of House of a la Mode, who lives on the other side of the Pacific Ocean in Portland, Oregon, in the US, I've drafted the pattern to share with you all.

At a finished size of approx 14”(37cm) wide x 16”(41cm) long, this generously big zipper pouch is quilted and lined, with a top that easily rolls down to give easy access to your yarn and notions.
Boxed corners enable it to sit flat next to you, or at your feet for maximum ease.
A zip closure keeps all your project materials safely secured away when not in use.
Add a cotton webbing carry handle to make it easy to take with you anywhere you’d like to work on your project!

This pattern provides you with step by step instructions to make this fully lined pouch, complete with a full patchwork pattern to use for one or both sides.

Full colour photographs illustrate each step.
